Irish whiskey has had a turbulent history. For a while there in the 19th century, Irish Whiskey reigned over Scottish hands down. What followed was a period of turmoil, though things are on the up fortunately and the future bright. Irish Malts are Malt whiskey produced from barley in the same way as Scotch, except it is generally triple distilled.
